|
Next game in franchise on six platforms, will feature new setting.
The next Call of Duty will arrive across six different systems before the end of Activision's fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2009, and will feature a "new military theater," according to Activision Publishing CEO Mike Griffith. The undisclosed new setting will try to capitalize on the massive success of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which, according to an Activision earnings call, has doubled the install base of the franchise ever since the company took the series out of World War II. Next-Gen.biz reports that the next installment of the best selling first person shooter will appear on the DS, PC, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 platforms.

|
08.05.2008 - by DoDe
|
Starting today you can be part of the Beta phase of Battlefield 2142 Update 1.50. Update 1.50 is a big step for Battlefield as it is the first time we have included community created maps and included them into an update. Wake Island makes a come back thanks to The Sir. Community and appears alongside a brand new map new to Battlefield created by Jason Brice, Operation Shingle. Also, for those who prefer to fight on foot, we have added a No Vehicle option to a number of maps to allow you to fight without worrying if you’ll come face to face with a Battle Walker. Also, as requested by match broadcasting groups we have separated the Commanders voice volume from the Sound Effects so you can keep the explosions and gun fire without the Commander interrupting the broadcast.
FEATURES- Added community maps, Wake Island 2142 and Operation Shingle
- Added the ability to use widescreen resolutions.
- Added No Vehicles mode.
- Added Conquest Assault mode.
- Changed the volume control for the Commander Voice Over on request of the esports community.
- Changes made to pod steering mechanism to improve control while limiting pod surfing.
FIXES- Fixed the loading issue caused by corrupt Radial.cdb file
- Various changes made to prevent cheating.
The Beta update is an incremental file, to take part in the Beta you must have Battlefield 2142 version 1.40 or Battlefield 2142 Deluxe installed. You can download Update 1.40 from HERE
To see a preview of what to expect from the two new maps check out the teaser created by Jason Brice and the Sir. Community.Download the Update 1.50 file from one of the following locations:

[AFFILIATES - NovaHQ] DeltaForce Angel Falls |
|
07.05.2008 - by DoDe
|
Our affiliate - NovaHQ has just posted a news about the upcoming title from Novalogic, Angel Falls.
Take your time and read the article:- -----My Squad leader Rogue*CS ended up calling nova after the mods went crazy in the novaworld forums (they picked up on the 5th ring) He asked them about DF: Angel Falls - here is the result of his conversation: ----
After the commotion on Novaworld and the way Moderators were banning players, locking our posts, and going as far as deleting our posts as soon as we made them, I sort of had a spell of paranoia. My second in command was suspended for posting info about pinger, and 6 hours later there was a sticky post warning people not to share that info in Nova and he and one other was banned, but later today I know IcIshoot had his account reinstated.
The moderator was, shall I say, perturbed and at the point of sounding angry when he answered the phone (which was picked up after the 5th ring..lol) when I called them today.
He started by making his case known, and after talking to him a bit in my, "hey bro, I'm your friend not your enemy" tone, I slid right on in to the subject of the new game coming out.
Delta Force Angel Falls.
>Angel Falls is being built on a completely new game engine, as I am told.
>The graphics and playability are, in his words, comparable to Crisis.
>Angel Falls is going to be launched on at least 3 platforms.
>Angel Falls is "Delta Force" and will be in the same spirit of BHD, and not a copycat version of JO, JOE or DFX.
>Map making will still exist, but it will be mostly Nile based while preserving the MEDS we use now. Nova has a MED that allows them "to change terrains on the fly", which is nothing like we have seen yet, also the terrains are, as I understood it, editable, he (Nova Mod) was explaining to me that he was building a cave into the side of a mountian styled after the flat plateau mountinas in Mexico.
>There will be drivable and flyable vehicles.
Delta Force Cuba
>The PS3 and XBOX format of Angel Falls
>No other info was given.
Time frame for release.
Christmas
>Demo will be available possibly 6 months prior to the release.
Delta Force Operation Acid Gambit
>Never made it out of preproduction, was presented to the market researchers and it "flopped".
The more I know the more I will share, if you have any info to add or hear of anything please let me know.

BioWare technical producer Derek French has said that the PC versions of both Mass Effect and Spore will make use of copy protection that will require online validation every ten days to continue working. "After the first activation, SecuROM requires that [Mass Effect PC] re-check with the server within ten days (in case the CD Key has become public/warez'd and gets banned),"

Gothic 4 Arcania first details |
|
27.04.2008 - by BoB
|
The first details on Spellbound's upcoming RPG, Gothic 4 Arcania:- Fully titled Gothic 4: Arcania (as opposed to the previous subtitle Genesis).
- Story set 10 years after the third title and located on various southern islands, each having different climate zones and its own flora & fauna.
- Same as in previous titles, there'll be a hidden place (temporarily blocked by a magical shield/barrier).
- Weather changes, full day and night cycle plus the ability to temporarily cast a spell and change the time of day (e.g. from day to night when you need to slip past guards unnoticed).
- Aside few NPCs from the previous title, some monsters will have a fresh look (however, trolls look the same as in Gothic III).
- With the ability to climb and ride on beasts.
- Aiming for continuity, developers have gone through fan wishes on the forums and are planning on integrating some of them.
- Fully DirectX 10 compatible with advanced shader technology: standing under a tree, not only light will be realistically dimmed, but looking up into the sky, you'll see the sun behind partially transparent leaves.
Gothic 4: Arcania for PC, X360 and PS3 hasn't got a release date yet, it'll be done "when it's done" and won't miss out on this year's Game Convention.

GSC has released a new trailer for the upcoming prequel to their hit open-ended shooter. You can download the HD version [ here ] or standard res [ here ]. The video shows off quite a bit of DX10 exclusive eye candy... which is quite a few steps up considering that SoC was almost incompatible with Vista out of the box.
The game is set for release in August and promises players the ability to join and abandon factions, take over territories, customize equipment and weapons as well as modified/enhanced artifact hunting gameplay.

Turok released for PC |
|
24.04.2008 - by BoB
|
Touchstone announced an April 22, 2008 release date for the Windows-based PC version of Turok, the sci-fi first person shooter. Developed by Propaganda Games, the Windows-based PC version has been optimized for PC by Aspyr Studios. The game will give PC fans the opportunity to experience the engaging, story-driven single player experience and multiplayer modes for up to 16 players. The PC version, which will enable both the mouse and keyboard or a game controller, will be available for $49.99. The new downloadable content for the console versions will be available for Windows-based PC soon after that version’s release.
Of the five new Turok downloadable maps for consoles, two are completely new multiplayer maps, one is a new co-op map and two are relit versions of popular multiplayer maps available with the game. Below is a brief description of the five new maps:
Co-Op – A brand new Turok co-op map for 2-4 players. In this co-op map your Whiskey Company squad has been captured and is being held in a Mendel-Gruman facility designed for holding dinosaurs. You and your team have to break out and make it to the rescue chopper before the Wolf Pack troops decide to feed you to the captured raptors.
Desolation – A brand new swamp-based map where simple structures are set up alongside a rock cliff to allow helicopters and transports into the area to bring in supplies. There are many hiding spots on this multi-level map which enables numerous quiet kill opportunities.
Sentinel – Another new multiplayer map and one of the largest Turok maps to date. The setting takes place at the top of a mountain around one of Kane’s orbital defense arrays - the very base that shot down the Whiskey Company ship from orbit in the single-player campaign. Also, the presence of a few large dinosaurs on the map can make things very interesting during multiplayer combat.
Inconclusive Tests – This time the Testing Grounds map takes place at night and offers a different view of the world that now contains more dark hiding spots. A word of caution — watch out for the raptors.
A Rivalry Continues – As the name suggests, the struggle for the compound from A Heated Rivalry is not over and has extended into the eerie darkness of the night.
Turok, the epic, sci-fi first person shooter, provides an opportunity to interact with dinosaurs like never before. Published by Touchstone and developed by Propaganda Games, Turok is a unique and gritty first person shooter that immerses players into a world of dinosaurs. Turok has a robust online multiplayer feature with a variety of modes and maps for up to 16 players. Competitive multiplayer modes include Capture the Flag, Assault-style Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and War Games, a special objective-based game mode. Turok’s co-op feature allows up to four players to team up online in maps inspired by the single-player story but designed specifically for the co-op mode. Unique to Turok, and like the game’s single-player campaign, the multiplayer modes include dinosaurs and large insects, which may attack any player and can be lured to attack opponents.

BIA: Hell's Highway in August |
|
18.04.2008 - by BoB
|
Those of you waiting for Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway will need to hang around until August 2008, Ubisoft confirmed today, but will have a "totally redesigned online component" to enjoy when the game does pitch up.
Ubisoft has also released a brand new trailer that you can check out on Eurogamer TV (or preview down below on the left in titchy form) showing off lots of gameplay footage, and some fancy new screenshots that illustrate the game's progress since we last saw it.
That was in December last year, when we went hands-on under the tutelage of Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford. Back then we were told to expect 20-player support on PS3, 360 and PC in online multiplayer, and that features like the squad system for issuing orders and destructible cover would make their way online.
Now Ubisoft is claiming "dozens" of players on each side, with the result "combining all the intensity and accessibility of deathmatch with the squad-based gameplay that helped make Brothers In Arms famous".
As you will already know if you've followed the preview coverage, Hell's Highway puts you back in the World War II boots of Matt Baker during Operation Market Garden. Based on Unreal Engine 3, it's a lot more elaborately appointed and aims to evolve the game's traditional squad-based cover and flanking gameplay in ways that will get you interested all over again.
